Exams For Higher Education
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is all India examination that analyzes understanding of aspirants in different subjects in Engineering, Architecture, Science and Technology. The score is used for admissions to postgraduate programs in Indian Institutes of higher education.
Financial Assistance is provided for a valid GATE score to apply for Master Programs and direct Doctoral Programs. When applying for these courses a minimum weightage for 70% is given to GATE score and rest to test/interview.
Eligibility for GATE:
BE/ B.Tech/ Masters in Science, Arts, Computer Application or equivalent/ Integrated ME/Mtech/ Professional Society examinations equivalent to BE / B Tech/B Arch.
GATE exam is mostly conducted in the months of January-February.
Common Admission Test (CAT) is All India Management Entrance Exam conducted by IIMs (Indian Institutes of Managements) for admissions in several institutes all over India.
The CAT score is used separately by each institute along with other parameters i.e. academic performance, work experience, group discussion, written assessment and interview performance etc. to select candidates. The weightage assigned to CAT score may differ for each institute.
Eligibility for CAT:
In order to be eligible for appearing in CAT, the aspirants should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or institute with minimum 50% marks. The final year graduation students are also eligible to apply provided they complete the degree and obtain the cutoff percentage within specified time frame.
CAT exam is held once in a year in the month of November while results are declared in December.
3. UGC NET
UGC NET Exam is conducted by the National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission. This test establishes the eligibility of the candidate for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) award and lectureship.Candidates should only appear in the subject of their post graduation. In case, the post graduation subject of the candidate is not included in the list of subjects, then the candidate can apply for another related subject.
Eligibility of UGC NET:
The candidate must be an Indian national. The candidate must be a graduate/ postgraduate from a recognized university/institution,with minimum score of 55% in the final degree exam. There is no upper age limit for the exam for lectureship. The maximum age limit for JRF exam is 28 years.
This exam takes place twice in a year (June and December).
